See It Through
03:19
|
|||
All the dreamers in their spaces
Wish for something new to be
Staring at the floor
And burning all their time
Then the door kicks open
Light breaks through
And all the shadows run away
Nothing they can do but face the day
All that’s left to do
Is see it through
Impossible to lift your eyes up
If you’re too afraid to try
But you can see the far horizon if you do
Well you can dream about things
Watch the clock advancing
Missing everything around you now
Or get up now and move your feet
Step inside this mystery
When the sleeping dreamers wake up new
And run in through the open door
Land the boat and leave it on the shore

Move On Up
03:48
|
|||
Hush now child
And don't you cry
Your folks might understand you
By and by
Just move on up
Towards your destination
Though you may find, from time to time
Complication
Bite your lip
And take a trip
Though there may be wet road ahead
And you cannot slip
Just move on up
For peace you will find
Into the steeple of beautiful people
Where there's only one kind
So hush now, child
And don't you cry
Your folks might understand you
By and by
Move on up
And keep on wishin'
Remember your dream is your only scheme
So keep on pushin'
Take nothing less
Than the supreme best
Do not obey rumors people say
'Cause you can pass the test
Just move on up
To a greater day
With just a little faith, if you put your mind to it
You can surely do it

If We Go Our Own Way
04:13
|
|||
Roots grow fast
And they grow deep
But sometimes where you’re planted
Makes you need to move your feet
Is it wrong to believe our time has come?
All these signs by the road
Make it easier to stay
But we will get somewhere
If we go our own way
I know this place
Been here before
But things looked different
Before the war
I call your name, the air is clear
But I know that you’re not here
All the stars above our heads
Will not lead us astray
But we will get somewhere
If we go our own way
You know the wind it blows
Where you lay your head I call my home
I’ll spend my days and all my nights
Following your light
You hold my hand
And say the words
It’s the best damn thing
These ears have ever heard
It’s finally time for us to go
We waited for this day
And we will get somewhere
If we go our own way

Do The Apocalypse
03:16
|
|||
Just another day
With everybody lying
Getting in my face
To unleash the lions
Oh my God it’s getting bad
Oh my God it’s getting bad
There’s nothing we can’t build
That we can’t ruin
Had it up to here
But there’s nothing doing
Oh my God I’m getting mad
Oh my God I’m getting mad
Oh baby baby just shake those hips
Do the Apocalypse
It’s all good but don’t look now
Somebody come to burn it down
Just don’t be yourself, get a better angle
Burn up all my time
Staring at a tiny black rectangle
Oh my God I’m getting sad
Oh my God I’m getting sad
Just play that beat
Keep it real steady
Tell me go to hell
Baby, I’m there already

Now, My Friend
03:19
|
|||
Sun comes up
And the pain starts again
Fill our cups
Drink it down to the end
But you’re not alone
Never alone
I’m with you now my friend
World wakes up
And the fight starts again
But you’re not alone
Never alone
I’m with you now my friend
It’s deeper than the blood
Wider than the blue sea
Together with you, family
I know you’re moving on
But we’ll stay strong
We see the light
But we pull the curtains closed
For the night
When the noise gets nice and low
Try to find that brighter day
But life gets in the way
Gotta stick to us like glue
And keep on pushing through
You’re far away
But in my heart your always near
I hear the noise
But you come through so bright and clear
You’re not alone
Never alone
I’m with you now my friend

I Need A Noun
03:30
|
|||
I need a noun
A person, place, or thing
To keep me from pushing daisies up next spring
And then a verb
An action
To prevent the world around me from collapsing
The only reason that I'm living life today
Is thinking maybe tomorrow my life will change
But these days have become commas and the way to end
This run on sentence would be with a period
Unless I find another kind of adjective
An attribute to modify the way I live
Cause the words I string together in sentences
Are making life seem like a double negative
But it starts with a noun
A person, place, or thing
To keep me from pushing daisies up next spring

Blood On The Mountain
03:30
|
|||
These talking heads all saying nothing
Blinded by their pearly white teeth
Some old man keeps trying to sell me liquor
Don’t you know I’m already in there way too deep?
There’s fire on the water
And blood on the mountain
Up in the tower
Well, nobody’s watching
There’s a whole lotta nothing here
Where some thing used to be
One side wants to tell me how to listen
The other side just cries and bares their teeth
Somewhere in the middle we keep crying
This old fool keeps asking me
If I can still believe

Let The Brave Go Alone
04:02
|
|||
Trees are tall
Path is dark and cold
The house is warm
The fire roars
My own, let the brave go alone
Safe here tonight
My own, let the brave go alone
Sleep by my side
Winter snow
On this frozen ground
But the home we built
Is strong and sound

A man we passed just tried to stare me down
And when I looked at you
You looked at the ground
I don't know who he is
But I think that you do
Dadgummit
Who is he, and what is he to you
Something in my heart and in your eye
Tells me he's not someone just passing by
And when you cleared your throat
Was that your cue
Dadgummit
Who is he, and what is he to you
Now when I add the sum of you and me
I get confused when I keep coming up with three
You're too much for one man
But not enough for two
Dadgummit
Who is he and what is he to you
Well, you tell me men don't have much intuition
Is that what you really thinking girl
Or are you wishing
Before you wreck your old home
And search for another new
Dadgummit
Who is he, and what is he to you

But I'm Here Now
03:35
|
|||
When we’re young we try to run away
Bundled up and stepped out in the gray
But I never got too far those days
Always end up missing home
We’ve been here my friend a time or two
Chasing all your magical beatitudes
You let the time and tide get inside you
Feels like you’re out there on your own
I can’t say
If help is ever coming down
But I’m here now
I know it’s hard to say the things you mean
Truth goes missing somewhere in between
It never plays out like the silver screen
And we always hurt the ones who stay
You grew up hard in pain and left alone
To figure all this stuff out on your own
I’m proud of you my friend
Even though you sure tore things up along the way
Well I won’t lie
And say I know who wins this round
But I’m here now
You won’t say just how deep you’re sinking down
And you can’t see all your walls are on the ground
And I’m not sure how long I can stick around….
But I’m here now

Flesh and Blood
02:49
|
|||
Beside a Singin' Mountain Stream
Where the Willow grew
Where the Silver Leaf of Maple
Sparkled in the Mornin' Dew
I braided Twigs of Willows
Made a String of Buckeye Beads;
But Flesh And Blood need Flesh And Blood
And you're the one I need
I leaned against a Bark of Birch
And I breathed the Honey Dew
I saw a North-bound Flock of Geese
Against a Sky of Blue
Beside the Lily Pads
I carved a Whistle from a Reed;
Mother Nature's quite a Lady
But you're the one I need
Flesh And Blood need Flesh And Blood
And you're the one I need.
A Cardinal sang just for me
And I thanked him for the Song
Then the Sun went slowly down
And I had to move along
These were some of the things
On which my Mind and Spirit feed;
But Flesh And Blood need Flesh And Blood
And you're the one I need
When this Day was ended
I was still not satisfied
For I knew ev'rything I touched
Would wither and would die
Love is all that will remain
And grow from all these Seed;
Mother Nature's quite a Lady
But you're the one I need
Flesh And Blood need Flesh And Blood
And you're the one I need
